The secret to the Hero’s Journey that everybody knows but often conveniently forgets is this: we are our own Hero. Once we realize that, our power is unleashed.
Why don’t more of us realize that? Fear. Of what we can accomplish, of what we’re capable of. Of what is our responsibility. As the famous quote from Marianne Williamson says: “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our Light, not our Darkness, that most frightens us.”

Follow along with me here: You’re living your ordinary life when something happens to call you to a higher place. You’re reluctant to follow that call (because the familiar is comfortable) but you’re helped by a Mentor Guide who assists you in facing the trials and difficulties of a new and special world. You eventually reach the place where you must do ultimate battle with the Villain. In this case, you are both your own Hero and your own Villain. The Villain is your Inner Critic.
Meet Coach Tash

As Natasha and her mentor crouched down next to the wheels of a Humvee (High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle) drawing plans in the sand and Natasha contemplated different approaches, her mentor stopped her and said:
